2. Scope
This policy describes the processing of personal data when using Klyron on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and when visiting klyron.app.
3. Data in the app
Klyron does not require its own user account. The app processes projects, activities, time entries, and app settings that you create or configure. This data is stored on your device. Klyron does not operate its own server for your productivity data or use advertising or analytics SDKs.
Processing provides the app’s functionality. Where personal data is involved, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. You manage and delete projects and time entries in the app. Archiving does not delete data.
4. iCloud and CloudKit
When iCloud is available and enabled for Klyron, your app data may be synchronized across devices using Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure. Apple processes this data as part of the iCloud service you use. Apple’s privacy information also applies.
You can manage iCloud access in system settings. Local data, iCloud data, and device backups may have different retention periods. Removing the app does not automatically remove all data from iCloud or backups.
5. Timers and notifications
With your permission, Klyron creates local notifications, for example when a timer ends. You can change notification permission in system settings. Klyron does not use its own push server for this purpose.
6. Website and hosting
This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Requests involve technically necessary data, including your IP address, requested URL, time, browser, operating system, and, where applicable, referring page. Processing delivers the website and maintains its security and stability. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
According to STRATO’s information, visitor IP addresses are stored for a maximum of seven days to detect and prevent attacks. Access logs provided to hosting customers contain anonymized IP addresses or hostnames.
7. Cookies and external content
This static website does not itself set cookies or use browser storage to identify visitors, analytics, or advertising services. Fonts are provided by your operating system; images and stylesheets are served by this website. Third-party content is not embedded.
Links to the App Store, Apple, or STRATO lead to those providers. Their privacy policies also apply when you follow those links.
8. Email and telephone contact
If you email me, I process your email address, message, and any voluntarily supplied information to answer your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or app-use inquiries, or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for handling general inquiries.
I retain correspondence as long as necessary to handle the request. Statutory retention obligations may require longer storage. Please avoid sending confidential productivity data that is not needed to resolve your inquiry.
I use STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, to receive, store, and send email. STRATO processes email addresses, message contents, attachments, and technical communication data as necessary to provide the mail service.
When you contact me by phone, I process the information you provide and, where applicable, your phone number to handle your request. The same purposes, legal bases, and retention criteria apply as for email contact.
Providing contact details and information about your request is voluntary. Without the information necessary to handle it, I may be unable to answer your request.
9. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, particularly where you live, work, or believe a violation occurred. The Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision supervises private controllers in Bavaria. For questions or to exercise your rights, contact me at mail@klyron.app.
10. Recipients and international processing
Recipients include the hosting and email providers identified in this policy as necessary to provide their services, and authorities or other bodies where disclosure is legally required. For the use of iCloud and CloudKit in the app described above, Apple may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Apple states that transfers of data from the European Economic Area are safeguarded by Standard Contractual Clauses. Information and a copy of these safeguards can be requested through Apple’s privacy contact.
11. Retention and required information
App data remains stored until you delete it; iCloud and backups are also subject to the settings and terms of the relevant Apple service. Website logs and contact requests are subject to the periods or deletion criteria described above. Where statutory retention duties or the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims require further retention, affected data is kept only for those purposes and then deleted.
Technical request data is required to deliver the website. Without processing it, the website cannot be delivered. You decide which projects and time entries to create in the app; functions based on those entries are unavailable without the relevant input.
12. Automated decisions
I do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR, or carry out profiling.
13. Changes
I update this information when the app, website, or data processing changes. The current version is available on this page.
